Homework
- Math Homework (due Friday 10/16), Click HERE for electronic copy
- Read, Read, Read (at least 30 minutes daily)
- Binder/Reading Log: In order to help students develop the skill of responsibility. They will be asked to transport their binder back and fourth to school. This means students need to take their binder home every day and return it to school the next morning. Binders will NOT go home over the weekend. In order to help with accountability, students will be asked to complete a Daily Reading Log. Reading Logs will be checked in and shared with Becky every morning.
- Scholastic Book Orders (optional, due by 10/16)
Announcements & Events
- Scholastic Book Orders (due October 16th*): This year 4th grade families will have the opportunity to purchase books via Scholastic Book Orders. Each order placed my families translates into Scholastic Points for the classroom. We will use these points to purchase additional classroom books as well as Oregon Battle of the Books titles. TO ORDER (1) complete order form/payment back to class BEFORE FRIDAY 10/16 or (2) order online at scholastic.com/readingclub using our Class Code: PDY2R
- Pumpkin Book Project Pumpkins (due October 23rd): During the last two weeks in October, fourth graders will participate in a Pumpkin Book Character Project. Each student will select a high quality picture book or chapter book to study. They will choose a character from their selected book to write about and represent on a pumpkin! We will be designing and decorating the pumpkins in the classroom. Parents are invited to see our pumpkin display on Friday October 30th at 11:45am. After this presentation, pumpkins will be sent home with students. In order to make this process a success, we need pumpkins. If you are able to donate a pumpkin to this project, please drop it off in the classroom or sent it with your student. We would appreciate small or medium-sized pumpkins or squashes that students can carry on their own. The Dollar Tree has foam pumpkins available that would work as well. Pumpkin Book Project Example Videos, available HERE.
- Field Work Overnight: On Wednesday November 4th & Thursday November 5th, we will be traveling to Cape Disappointment, Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center, Astoria Column, and Fort Clatsop. In order to make this trip a success we need chaperones! If you are interested/available to join us on this overnight trip, please let me know via email OR sign up at VolunteerSpot
